CalSTRS wants broader Scope 3 inclusion in SEC climate plan
Proposal attracts thousands of responses CalSTRS is pressing the SEC to go further with its climate risk disclosure plans by, among other things, throwing a wider net to take into account greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across companies’ value chains. Andrew Asch has been with the company since 2010 Encore Capital Group is promoting Andrew Asch to the position of senior vice president and general counsel, effective August 15. Asch has been with the specialty finance company since 2010 and is currently senior vice president and general counsel of Encore’s subsidiary Midland Credit Management (MCM). Andrea Paul to join company from LogicBio Therapeutics Nasdaq-listed Zentalis Pharmaceuticals has appointed Andrea Paul as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective August 1. Paul will join Zentalis from LogicBio Therapeutics, where she has been general counsel and corporate secretary since May 2021. She previously held positions of increasing responsibility at Akebia Therapeutics, most recently as vice president for legal. Proponent concerned by HFCs as ‘potent’ greenhouse gases A proposal on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) has received significant – though not majority support – among shareholders of The Kroger Co. Maryam Abdul-Kareem previously worked at Kinnate Biopharma Biotechnology company Arcellx has hired Maryam Abdul-Kareem as general counsel. Abdul-Kareem previously worked at Kinnate Biopharma as deputy general counsel, a role in which she was responsible for both legal and compliance matters. Lamarque will take up the position from Mark Lagomarcino who is retiring after 20 years with Principal and has served as interim general counsel to enable a smooth transition.
