Share ownership becoming more concentrated, MSCI research shows
Growing concentration of ownership and control of global equities could result in a loss of influence and make engagement with listed companies more difficult, firm warns Equities ownership concentration has rapidly increased in recent years, according to new research from MSCI. The research finds that 46 percent of companies on the MSCI ACWI Index (the firm’s flagship global equity index) now have one or more shareholders or shareholder blocks holding 30 percent or more of the issuer’s voting shares. KKR names next general counsel and CLO
Kathryn King Sudol is joining from law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett KKR & Co has hired Kathryn King Sudol as its next general counsel. She will succeed David Sorkin, who has been KKR’s general counsel since 2007 and will become its chief legal officer (CLO). Both appointments are effective as of September 6. At the end of the first quarter of 2023, Sudol will take on the CLO role and Sorkin will become an advisory partner of KKR. Oracle’s general counsel to retire
Dorian Daley joined the company in 1992 Company veteran Dorian Daley is retiring as Oracle Corporation’s executive vice president and general counsel. According to an SEC filing, Daley on June 27 gave notice of her intention to retire in August. The filing states that she will assist in the transition of her duties until her retirement becomes effective. It provides no further details and an Oracle spokesperson did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
