People moves: Veralto names Kimberly Chainey as SVP and chief legal officer

Plus, Veon, Entergy and Fidelity Bank bolster their GRC teams

Veralto, a provider of water and product quality solutions, has namedKimberly Chaineyas SVP and chief legal officer, effective December 1, 2025.

Chainey joins Veralto from Aptar Group, where she oversaw global legal affairs as EVP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Before joining Aptar, Chainey held legal leadership roles at Panasonic Aviation Corporation, Avis Budget Group, the Hershey Company andMorgan Lewis.

Nasdaq-listed GBank Financial, the parent company ofGBank, has appointed Hilary Sledge-Sarnor as EVP, general counsel and corporate secretary of both the parent company and the bank.

Sledge-Sarnor joins GBank from Greenberg Traurig, where she was a shareholder in the financial regulatory and compliance and finance practice groups, advising domestic and foreign banks, fintech and payments companies, and digital asset firms on complex regulatory and transactional matters.

She previously served with MUFG Bank and MUFG Union Bank, including as executive counsel to the general counsel.

NSYE-traded Entergy announced that Marcus Brown, EVP and general counsel, will retire in spring of 2026 following a 40-year career. In addition, as of December 1, Brown will assume the role of executive legal advisor to Entergy’s chair and CEO, Drew Marsh.

Brown’s responsibilities will be taken over by Dan Falstad, the current VP, deputy general counsel and corporate secretary, while John Hudson, the current SVP, chief external affairs officer and president of the Entergy Charitable Foundation, will assume the chief security officer team previously overseen by Brown.

Before joining Entergy, Falstad practiced corporate and securities law with Troutman Pepper Locke, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton and DLA Piper in Atlanta.

Over in Virginia, BWX Technologies has named Toby Smith as SVP and general counsel. Smith will serve as the organization’s chief legal advisor replacing Ronald (Chip) Whitford, who will stay with the company in an advisory role until early 2026.

Smith enters the role with more than 20 years of experience, including in-house counsel for the former United Technologies Corporation (now RTX Corporation) and Otis Worldwide Corporation, as well as outside litigation counsel.

Nasdaq-listed Veon has appointed Sebastian Rice as general counsel of the group, effective January 1, 2026.

Rice will succeed the group’s acting general counsel Vitaly Shmakov, who has been promoted to chief investment officer, overseeing the group’s M&A function.

Rice joins from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where he has worked for the past 24 years.

Elsewhere, Fidelity Bank has welcomed Charles Hangen as SVP and chief risk officer.

Hangen will be responsible for safeguarding the bank’s strategic integrity, including in the identification and mitigation of critical competitive, regulatory and technological risks.

He will reportedly be focused on advancing the enterprise risk management framework and ensuring robust policies and procedures that adapt to an evolving financial landscape.
