People moves: Trustpilot unveils chief trust officer role as MVW general counsel James Hunter is set to retire

Plus Choice Hotels, Arcutis Biotherapeutics and Liberty Media grow their legal teams

Trustpilot has named Shazadi Stinton as its new chief trust officer, a newly created role at the reviews company.

It joins the likes of Salesforce, Airbnb and Docusign by introducing the role, which sits at the intersection of security, data privacy, compliance and ethical AI initiatives.

Specifically, Stinton will oversee Trustpilot’s content integrity, fraud prevention and the legal and governance framework. She will work closely with the company’s technology, public affairs and product teams to ensure the company’s integrity standards remain high.

Stinton joins from the MONY Group (formerly MoneySuperMarket Group) where she served as group general counsel and company secretary. Prior to this she spent over a decade at Severn Trent in senior legal leadership roles, including head of legal counsel.

She began her career in private practice at Eversheds Sutherland and Shakespeare Martineau.

Over in the US, Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) announced today that, after nearly 20 years with the company, EVP and general counsel James Hunteris set to retire on April 1.

Hunter joined the company in 1994 as VP and assistant general counsel before being promoted to the role of EVP and general counsel in 2011.

During his tenure, he played a key role in the launch of the Marriott Vacation Club Destinations points product and the 2011 spin‑off that formed MVW.

‘On behalf of our Board of Directors and associates, I thank Jim for his long‑standing service and the contributions he has made to our Company,’ says Matt Avril, CEO of MVW.

Marriott Vacations Worldwide has not yet confirmed his replacement.

Similarly, Choice Hotels International has appointedJeff Lobbas SVP, general counsel and secretary, succeedingSimone Wu, who will retire later this spring.

In his new role, Lobb will oversee the company’s global legal and public policy strategy and operations as well as being a member of Choice Hotels’ executive leadership team.

He joined Choice Hotels in 2006 and most recently served as deputy general counsel. Prior to joining Choice Hotels, Lobb practiced law at several leadingWashington, DCbased firms.

Elsewhere,Arcutis Biotherapeutics confirms the promotion of Mas Matsuda to the position of EVP and chief legal officer.

Matsuda joined Arcutis in January 2022 as general counsel and corporate secretary and went on to serve the firm as SVP and general counsel.

Prior to Arcutis, he worked as senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at Halozyme Therapeutics.

At the same time, Nasdaq-listed Liberty Media has confirmed that Renee Wilm will transition from her role as chief legal officer and chief administrative officer of Liberty Media, Liberty Live and Liberty Broadband to the role of senior advisor.

Wilm has served as Liberty’s chief legal officer since 2019 and previously served the company as outside counsel for over two decades. She also spearheaded the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, serving as its president and CEO.

As senior advisor, Wilm will continue to provide strategic guidance and counsel to Liberty Media, Liberty Live and Liberty Broadband leadership teams while supporting key initiatives across the companies. Wilm will also continue as chief legal officer with GCI Liberty.

Meanwhile, Resolute Holdings Management, a NYSE-listed management services company, has announced the appointment of David Marshall as chief legal counsel and corporate secretary of Resolute Holdings and GPGI.

Marshall joins Resolute Holdings after serving as a partner of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City.

Finally, uranium company Deep Yellowhas announced the appointment of Jennifer Mintz as chief legal officer.

Before joining Deep Yellow, she served as a member of the executive leadership team at PLS (formerly Pilbara Minerals) for seven years. Her role encompassed general council, company secretary and head of risk.
