People moves: GoPro promotes Jason Stephen while Lennar brings in former DOJ lawyer

Lennar, Republic Bank and Danahe also welcome new legal chiefs

GoPro, the American technology company, has promoted Jason Stephen to the role of vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, replacing Eve Saltman.

The news comes following a Form 8-K securitiesfiling confirming that Saltman was stepping down from her role to pursue other opportunities.

Before the promotion, Stephen acted as deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary for the company.

Meanwhile, sporting goods retailer Academy Sports + Outdoors has selected Brandy Treadwayas its new EVP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Treadway joins from RumbleOn, where she served as SVP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary. Prior to that she was SVP, general counsel and secretary at JCPenney.

She will report directly to Steve Lawrence, Academy Sports + Outdoors’ CEO.

Elsewhere Lennar, a US-based homebuilder and financial services provider, has named Katherine Lee Martin as chief legal officer. She will succeed Mark Sustana who will retire from the company as general counsel and vice president on September 2.

Martin joins Lennar from The Hertz Corporation where she most recently served as EVP, general counsel and corporate secretary. Before joining Hertz, Martin also held roles at X (formerly Twitter) and spent more than a decade as an assistant US attorney at the US Department of Justice.

Earlier this week, Republic Bank promoted two new members to the corporate leadership team.

Christy Ames was appointed as EVP, chief legal officer & general counsel, while Scott Nardi took on the role of SVP, chief risk and compliance officer.

Prior to the promotion, Ames served as Republic’s general counsel a role she held since 2018. Nardi has served as the bank’s chief compliance office since 2018.

Staying in the US, Danaher, a life sciences and diagnostics provider, has namedJonathan Leikenas SVP and general counsel, effectiveas of August 25.

LeikensucceedsBrian Ellis, who will retire after nearly a decade as Danaher’s general counsel. Ellis will remain at Danaher as an executive officer until February 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.

In his new role, Leiken will report directly to president and CEO Rainer Blair and will serve as an executive officer and a member of the Danaher leadership team.

Prior to joining Danaher, Leiken served as EVP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Dollar Tree.

In line with Leiken joining Danaher, Dollar Tree has named John Mitchell as its new chief legal officer and corporate secretary. He will take up the role as of August 11, while Leiken will remain with the company until August 22, to support Mitchell during the transition.

Mitchell joined Dollar Tree in 2021 as senior deputy general counsel after previously serving as a partner at the law firm of Williams Mullen.

Meanwhile, specialty chemicals company Albemarle has promoted Ander Krupa to executive vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer.

Krupa joined Albemarle in May 2017 as vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary.

Prior to working for Albemarle, he served as assistant general counsel, governance and securities for BWX Technologies and The Babcock & Wilcox Company.

In Australia, technology company Qoria has confirmed the appointment of Stephanie Majteles as company secretary.

Majteles’ new position comes in addition to her role as general counsel, a role she has held since June 2025.

Her appointment follows the resignation of Jack Rosaro. Majteles will now lead the company’s legal, risk, compliance and company secretarial functions.
