Alumis, a late-stage biopharma company, has promoted Sanam Pangali to chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
Prior to her promotion Pangali served as senior vice president of legal for the Nasdaq-listed company and succeeds Sara Klein, who has retired.
In Pangali’s new role, she will oversee all legal and compliance functions including corporate governance, intellectual property, and strategic advisory on key decisions and transactions.
Before joining Alumis Pangali held various leadership roles at the likes of ACELYRIN, Snapdocs, Principia Biopharma and Morrison & Foerster, the company says in a press release.
Elsewhere, IonQ, a provider of quantum computing and networking solutions, has announced the appointment of Paul Dacier as chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
Dacier succeeds Stacey Giamalis, who will stay at IonQ in an advisory capacity for up to 90 days to ensure a smooth transition, the company states in a press release.
Before his appointment, Dacier served as a partner at law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and as general counsel of EMC Corporation for more than 25 years.
Meanwhile, biopharmaceutical company Cingulatehas namedNilay Patel as its new chief legal officer.
Patel’s appointment comes as Cingulate plans to submit a new drug application to the FDA in coming weeks for its new ADHD treatment.
Patel most recently served as chief legal officer, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at Ironshore Pharmaceuticals.
Before his time at Ironshore, Patel also held senior legal roles at Grifols and at Life Sciences Law.
Elsewhere, Air Products and Chemicals, a provider of gases and chemicals for industrial use, has filed a 8-K form with the SEC confirming that Sean Major resigned as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Effective as of July 11, Major’s successor will be named at a later date.
Major will receive severance and other benefits in line with the Company’s Executive Separation Program, details of which were outlined in in the Company’s definitive proxy statement for its 2025 AGM.
Staying in North America, Canadian asset management firm Fiera Capital has promoted Sandro Muzzo as its new global chief legal officer.
In this global role, Muzzo will lead the firm’s legal function, providing strategic counsel to Fiera Capital’s investment platforms and corporate operations, the company writes in a press release.
With over 15 years of legal experience, Muzzo most recently served as the firm’s senior vice president and general counsel,Canada.
Before this he practiced corporate and securities law at Journey Capital (formerly OnDeck Canada), Faskenand Norton Rose Canada.
Over in the Middle East, Aluminium Bahrain has named Sohaila Rahman as its new chief legal and governance officer.
Effective as of July 20, Rahman will lead all of the company’s legal and governance functions, the company confirms in a press release.

She enters the role with over 20 years’ experience having held senior positions at Al Tamimi & Company, The Bahrain Petroleum Company, Eagle Hills Diyar Company, KBH Kaanuun, Baker & McKenzie, Clifford Chance LLP and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
