Genelux Corporation, a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company, has appointed Eric Groen as the company’s new general counsel, corporate secretary, chief compliance officer and head of business development.
Groen enters the role having previously served as general counsel of Rani Therapeutics, a clinical-stage, publicly traded biotech. Prior to this he spent 20 years in the legal department at the biotech company Amgen.
‘Eric brings a powerful blend of legal expertise, global business development savvy and a strategic understanding of the biotechnology ecosystem,’ says Thomas Zindrick, president, CEO and chairman of the board, in a statement.
‘His proven ability to lead high-impact transactions, build trusted partnerships and navigate complex regulatory environments will be invaluable in shaping our next phase of growth.’
Elsewhere, Valley National Bancorp, the holding company for Valley National Bank, named Lyndsey Sloan as senior executive vice president, general counsel.
In this role, Sloan will oversee the legal function at Valley and serve as a strategic advisor to executive management and the board of directors. She enters the role with more than two decades of experience and most recently served as deputy general counsel at The Huntington National Bank.
Before this, Sloan worked as general counsel for Global Technology Finance and for a global software company.
She succeeds Gary Michael, who has retired after more than 19 years with the company.
Over at ONE Gas, the US-based natural gas utility, Regina Gregory is to succeed Joseph McCormick as senior vice president, general counsel and assistant corporate secretary.
McCormickhas been part of the ONE Gas management team for more than 20 years, having served as associate general counsel before ONE Gas became a standalone, publicly traded company separate from ONEOK.
Gregory will assume the role as of July 16, reporting directly to chief executive officer Robert McAnnally.
Prior to joining ONE Gas, Gregory served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Targa Resources, a provider of midstream services.
Before her time at Targa, she served in senior leadership positions at various energy companies and practiced law at the firms of Jones Day and Norton Rose Fulbright.
In a post on LinkedIn, Ryan Hartfield confirmed that he has been appointed as global general counsel of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited(PTTEP), Thailand’s national energy company.
Hartfield says he will ‘also continue to serve asPTTEP’s country representative in Australiaand asalternate director on the board of Oman LNG’.
Elsewhere, Deutsche Bank has namedSimone Davinias the new general counsel of Deutsche Bank and head of legal Italy.
In this new position, Davini will report to Luca Fachin, chief operating officer Italy and Thorsten Seyfried, general counsel Germany and Europe and general counsel private bank.
In addition, Davini will join the company’s supervisory board of DB and will serve as secretary of the supervisory board and the management board of DB, as well as of the board of DB Milan Branch.
Davini joins Deutsche Bank from Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank Italia, where he served as head of legal and corporate affairs.
Before Crédit Agricole, he held roles of increasing responsibility in the legal field for various operators in the financial sector, such as Intesa Sanpaolo, Banca Profilo and ING.
