Bitcoin Depot, a US-based Bitcoin ATM operator and fintech company, has appointed Philip Brown as its new chief compliance officer.
In the new role, Brown will oversee Bitcoin Depot’s compliance strategy as the company continues its expansion across the US and internationally.
Specifically, Brown will manage the company’s compliance program, including its anti-money laundering and ‘know your customer’ procedures, transaction monitoring and state-by-state compliance strategies.
In addition, he will also lead the company’s regulatory engagement plans and ensure that its compliance infrastructure scales alongside its growing footprint.
Before joining Bitcoin Depot, Brown held similar roles at the likes of Banxa and Alliance Trust in the US.
Meanwhile, retail company The Kroger Co has appointed George Vincent as its secretary and general counsel, effective as of August 4.
Vincent, a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl, previously served as the firm’s managing partner from 2007 to 2022. He also served as chairman of the firm’s first board of directors.
Vincent succeeds EVP and general counsel Christine Wheatley who plansretire on September 1 having joined the company in 2008.
Over the course of his career, Vincent has counseled national and international businesses on strategic growth and was named in America’s Leading Lawyers for Businessfor nearly 20 years.
Elsewhere, following from the resignation of Sean Major last week, Air Productshas named Matthew Lepore as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary and chief compliance officer.
Effective as of August 18, Lepore will report to the company’s CEO Eduardo Menezesand based in Pennsylvania.
Before joining Air Products, Lepore served as group general counsel, president for legal, compliance and insurance, chief compliance officer, chief human rights officer and corporate secretary at BASF, a German multinational chemical company.
He also worked for Pfizer, DLA Piper and the US Department of Justice.
Elsewhere, American water treatment company Pentair has namedLance Bonneras executive vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Bonner will join the company effectiveAugust 11and will report directly toJohn Stauch,Pentair’s president and CEO. He returns toPentairhaving previously served as associate general counsel,M&A and securities for the company.
Bonner previously served as associate general counsel, corporate and assistant secretary at Inspire Medical Systems, a medical device company. He began his career in private practice atLindquist & Vennum(nowBallard Spahr) andFaegre Drinker Biddle & Reath.
Staying in North America, Janet Lee, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Ansys has been appointed as Synopsys’ general counsel and corporate secretary, following a merger between the two companies.
Lee succeeds John Runkel, who has moved into the advisory role of chief legal officer until January 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
Earlier in her career, Lee served as vice president of legal and intellectual property at HERE North America and director of legal & IP at Nokia Research Center.
She also served as assistant general counsel at America Online and held legal roles at Cooley Godward, Renaissance Capital Group, Clifford Chance and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
Over in Australia, Scalare Partners appointed Jane Miller as joint company secretary to work alongside Lucy Rowe.
Miller’s primary focus has previously been on the UK and Irish markets, supporting both FTSE 250 companies and those listed on AIM.
Her sector experience spans real estate, secured debt, renewables and private equity. She is a member of the Corporate Governance Institute in the UK and the Governance Institute of Australia.
Prior to joining Scalare Partners she also held roles at Tetratherix, Automic Group, VISTRA and Telefonica.
