NYSE-listed social media company Snap has announced the upcoming departure of its general counsel Michael O’Sullivan, a role he has held since July 2017.
In an 8-K SEC filing, the company confirms that O’Sullivan will leave Snap on December 31, his replacement has not been appointed.
O’Sullivan emphasizes that ‘his decision is not related to any disagreement with us on any matter relating to our accounting, strategy, management, operations, policies, or practices (financial or otherwise)’.
Before joining Snap, O’Sullivan was a lawyer at the law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson.
Elsewhere, global chemicals manufacturer Huntsman has named Julia Wright as the company’s new EVP, general counsel and secretary as of October 13.
Wright will succeed current general counsel, David Stryker, who will retire at the end of the year. Stryker will move into the chairman’s office to serve as EVP of strategic initiatives, pending his retirement.
Before joining Huntsman, Wright served as SVP, general counsel and secretary at ChampionX and before that as VP and general counsel at Nabors Industries.
Staying in the US, Adi Osovsky has joined biotechnology company Vor Bioas general counsel.
Osovsky joins Vor Bio fromiTeos Therapeutics, where she served as EVP, head of legal and corporate secretary.
She previously held senior legal roles atSarepta Therapeutics, supporting corporate transactions, securities matters and governance through a period of rapid growth and transformation.
Similarly, biopharmaceutical companyKymera Therapeutics has named Brian Adams as chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
Adamswill succeedEllen Chiniarawho is retiring from her role to focus on ‘board service, mentoring and other advisory opportunities’.
Prior to joining Kymera, Adams was chief legal officer of Relay Therapeutics and before then he served as EVP, general counsel and secretary at Keryx Biopharmaceuticals.
In Canada, TSX-listed Thunderbird Entertainment has confirmed that the company’s general counsel, Lori Massini, is leaving to pursue another career opportunity.
Massini will remain with the company until October 17 to ensure a smooth handover and transition position to successor Sara Lazer.
Lazer joins from Inter Alia Lawand will be taking on a fractional general counsel role at Thunderbird, effective immediately.
Finally, insurance and wealth management group iA Financialhas promoted Marie-Annick Bonneau as EVP and chief risk officer, effective October 1.
Bonneau will succeed Philippe Sarfati, who will be retiring at the end of the year and will remain as EVP and strategic advisor until that time, to ensure a smooth transition.
She currently holds the role of senior VP of integrated risk management and has been with the company since 2019 holding roles in areas such as compliance, regulatory and operational risk, investor relations, capital management, sustainability and public affairs and risk management.
